Tackle it Tuesday- UPDATE

Ok so Tackle it Tuesday was yesterday but I promised to post the AFTER pictures of the projects I started. So if you want to see the BEFORE click here. Otherwise see how everything turned out in my daughter's room:

Here is Monkey's closet. I forgot to get a before shot but this is much better. The clothes are hung up, I removed a ton of stuff from the top shelf, boxed up clothes that don't fit now, and took out two bags full of shoes that were too little. The kid grows like a weed. Now the toys are organized as well.
Here is the book shelf all organized. All the beanie babies and things were taken off and placed in the next picture on the new shelf we put up. This now allows more room for the chapter books and things in the months ahead. All the drawers in this room were organized too. All 9 of them!

Here is the new shelf and the neatly made bed! The girls are just hanging out!

Everything is organized and we put up the bulletin boards too. I now have to get new curtains for the window and take down the bed sheet. I had other blinds up but they were too dirty so I got rid of them.

All the clothes are boxed up and in the garage. I managed to pull out the wagon for Peanut to ride in and make trips to the garage. It's attached to the townhouse but to get to it you have to go outside and around. Totally pain. But we got everything to the dumpster and everything packed away. As well as a huge box of toys and books to donate and a box of papers to recycle.

Oh I also managed to finish the hall closet like I planned. Everything is placed differently, a lot of stuff was thrown out and the remainder placed in little boxes at the top. I am shocked at the size of the bag of trash that left this. Who would have thought? But everything is coming along nicely. I only have a few more areas in the house that really need to be organized and then it's all done.

So there you have it! There is the update! Hope you like the pictures. Come back next week for the next Tackle it Tuesday. oh and don't forget to visit 5 Minutes for Mom to visit all the other Tackle it Tuesday stuff.

Tackle it Tuesday- Closets and Bedrooms!

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

For this weeks Tackle it Tuesday, I took on a bit more than I can chew. First I decided I would work on the hall closet and get all the towels, sheets and everything else that is in there organized and functional.

Not only that but I decided that I was going to tackle my daughters room. I didn't want to just put everything away, but I wanted to sort through the clothes and get everything out that was too small, organize drawers, put up shelves, clean out the closet and so forth.

In the process of sorting. Notice the huge box full of school papers. We have to sort through and find the good ones that she can keep. She insists they are all good.

Here is a picture during this process, which we have been working on, off and on, for two days. We have some keep things, a trash bag, and a box of giveaway.

Here are the clothes I have to get boxed up now and moved out to the garage!

And here is Peanut dancing in the middle of the room while I am still trying to sort and move through all the "Stuff". Good grief Monkey has WAY TOO MUCH STUFF!

Now you might have noticed that there are no AFTER pictures posted. Well that is because we are still working on everything. After sorting through everything, going through all her drawers in the art stand, the dresser and book shelves, it has become a bigger project then I thought. We also put up the shelves, but the drill died. So that is charging right now. I am hoping to finish it up tomorrow and post up the after pictures Tuesday night or on Wednesday. So you will have to stop by again and see the finished look after everything! I am excited though. It is all looking great! And the girls think so too! Check out how happy they are relaxing on the bed while I am cleaning:

To see past Tackle it Tuesdays click here! And don't forget to see what else is being tackled over at 5 minutes for mom! Are you tackling something right now? Did you get a chance to relax over this three day weekend? Hope so! Stop by tomorrow for Wordless Wednesday, the AFTER pictures and giveaways this week!

Tackle it Tuesday- Kitchen!

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

Well this week for Tackle it Tuesday, I tackled the kitchen! Last week I took on me and let me update you a bit on that. After saying I was going to take time for myself I ended up sick- sick with a fever, running nose, cough, headache, chills, and body aches. It was brutal the first few days. The night before that though I did get some family time and went to a baseball game. So needless to say with a cold I sure did get some rest. It didn't help much with getting my to do list done. But I knocked out a lot the past two days and I am quite happy to say I added the kitchen in and it looks great. Its small but it can get cluttered quick. Here are the before pictures of the stove, the pantry and the tupperware cupboard where my little Peanut insists on playing.

I could really use a shelf in the back of the tupperware cupboard to make it more organized but that will have to wait for another day. I decluttered and disinfected every part of that kitchen, as well as sweep and mop, do all the dishes and finish the laundry that was piled up. Now I am working on my desk and all my work stuff and finding some place for that.

My daughter and I worked on her room on Sunday going through all the clothes and organizing her toys. I didn't get the before pictures so I decided to skip on the after pictures. Things are coming along nicely. And as for my long to do list from last week.... well the stuff I got done is highlighted in pink. The rest is still needing to be done and has joined a new list for this week.

Tackle It Tuesday- Innerself

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

This weeks Tackle Tuesday can not be captured through pictures. It can't be done by cleaning the house or reorganizing the closet. I know that the focus of Tackle it Tuesday on 5 minutes for mom is taking on those household projects and sharing the finished piece here. But this week my Tackle it Tuesday is personal. I am tackling me. I have decided that I have been running on empty for weeks: finishing order after order with my business, finalizing details with the Girls Night In and then hosting it, taking care of the girls, keeping up the house, spring cleaning, homework, and now designing new diaper cakes and towel cakes. (I am going to give you a sneak peek here of two new towel cakes before they even hit the website just to show that I have been tackling that to do) I need to take a time out each day for me. I need to regroup, to relax and to let go of the stress of the day, refuel and save some energy to tackle the next day. I owe that to Monkey, I owe that to Peanut, to my family, to my customers and gosh darn it to myself. So here is to renewing oneself. I think once I do that I can finally tackle my long to do list. Here's what is on that list: (pictures to come next week to get back into the real theme of Tackle it Tuesday)

finishing up the laundry
organizing the hall closet
going through the girls' winter clothes, pulling out the summer clothes
finishing the new diaper cakes and posting to site
mailing out wholesale information, booking appointments with local retailers
updating my blog
uploading all new towel cake line
mailing off cakes
finalizing location for charity silent auction this fall
following up with leads
setting up details for next Girls Night In
preparing house to be on the market
register for summer and fall classes
read a book ( I have a stack to the ceiling of fantastic books that I am just waiting for some time to curl up with and read!)
finding more sites to host product reviews

book trip to Disneyland

Ok I won't keep going with my list, I think you get the idea. So what is it you are tackling? Whether it be personal, or cleaning or just a project you have wanted to finish for a long tme (scrapbooking, making holiday cards, etc) leave a comment and share it with me. I would love to hear about it. Then I can head over and visit your blog as well. And make sure to visit 5 minutes for mom for all the other great Tackle it Tuesday stories! Tackle it Tuesday- TAXES!

Tackle It Tuesday Meme
Well my Tackle it Tuesday finds me in the middle of a tackle! Since I started my business, I have been keeping track of client orders, giveaways, discounts, receipts and everything else. Right up until the holiday season! Then as 2008 started I knew I would need to sit down and sort through the receipts, finishing my accounting books, take some inventory, balance accounts and of course prepare my taxes.
Here we are March 25th and I have not finished my taxes. I normally have them done by now and have already received (and spent) my return. So that is what I will be doing today, tomorrow, the next day.... sorting and organzing and finishing up my taxes. I want them mailed before the 16th. I also want to get things organized for 2008. Wish we luck with this tackle! Thanks to the ladies of 5 minutes of moms for keeping me on the ball with my tackles! I will think about posting some pictures of my receipts and paperwork. I don't want anyone to be frightened by the overwhelming stack of paper!!
Good luck with your tackle. If you stop by, leave a comment and say hello so that I may visit your blog as well. Stay awhile and visit some of the contests and reviews going on here.
Have a great day!

Tackle it Tuesday

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

So today I decided to tackle my craft room and the dining room which has turned into the sewing room. The past two weeks I have gotten slammed with orders, and had to prepare for a baby fair too. The rooms show the tornado that came through them. So here is the before:

Now who can work under these conditions?? Not me. I finally decided two weeks of running around crazy was enough. It was time to get back to being organized and make the room functional so I can complete the orders for this week. So after hours and I mean hours of sorting ribbon, paper, accessories, fabric, cakes, toppings, and everything else, the room finally came together. I am not fully done with the dining room since I have more cakes to put together and sewing together. But I have to say it is much better than it was. And the craft room looks gooooodddd! What do you think???
