Virtual Valentine’s Party Takes the Holiday to a New Digital Level
LITTLETON, Colorado. (1/22/08)— February the 14th bodes a busy day of love and gift-giving for most couples. Yet despite Valentine’s Day’s good intentions, many lovers often find themselves overwhelmed with concern about finding the perfect present or reservations in time, while others fret over the monetary costs expected to be spent on such a day.
In announcing its Virtual Valentine’s Day Party, Sweet Pea Cakes Etc.--a company specializing in baby-related gifts, clothing, and accessories—has perhaps found a point of common interest for anyone to enjoy the holiday. Taking Valentine’s Day to a new realm of possibilities over the Internet, the event offers a combination of entertainment, music, and giveaways to all that attend. Coming to the party is as simple as visiting the website at any time from February 13th-14th at http://www.sweetpeacakesetc.com/.
For those looking to save money, the digital party hosts an array of free activities. A magic eight-ball will answer confusing love questions and Valentine’s Day recipes will be shared for romantic nights-in or festive desserts. Attendees can send virtual valentines to friends and loved ones, adding their own personalized touches.
Partygoers that sign the website’s guestbook along with their favorite item from any sponsor, with potential winnings viewable at the website on the party’s date, will qualify to win that product in random drawings. Prizes are as diverse as men and women’s cologne, Sweet Pea baby food gift sets, $25 gift certificates, or animal clocks.
“Valentine’s Day is already stressful,” said Dawn Weigum, founder of Sweet Pea Cakes Etc. “I want to alleviate some of that stress and keep that date on the calendar fun—the way it should be.”
A group of mother-run businesses sponsor the party. The event is not limited to couples, with all that are interested invited to take advantage of the party’s free gifts and innovative way to spend Valentine’s Day.
Sponsors for the event include the following:
Mary Ann with Sweet Treats, Christy and Stephanie with BowDazzle, Lesley with Department 24, Lisa with Dragonfly Designs, Liz with Mary Kay, Shunatta with Mineral Girlz, Jessica with Munchie Mallow, Jarmelia with MB Gourmet Candles, Olivia with Baby Candy, Holly with At Home America, Trishia with Passion Parties, Tiffani with Bitsy Bows and Tinsy Ties, Beth with Lastasia Jewelry, Debbie with Designer Keepsakes, Angie with Saving Times, Maren with Just Bee Kidzz, and Kyna with gift baskets.

A bit About Sweet Pea Cakes, Etc.
I am a WAHM, full time business student and proud mommy of Kaleigh (3/21/01) and Lilly (12/18/06). I love children, weddings, birthdays and every occassion that calls for a celebration. I think it's important for people to feel special and feel celebrated on their special day. That's why this business is so special to me. It allows me to share in that special moment and help make it special while at the same time allowing me to not miss a moment with my little ones. This is my first chance to get to work from home and I LOVE it!
Because there is a high competition for what I do, I try to take my time and make each cake, or gift unique and special. Each one is handmade, with each fabric carefully picked out to reflect the theme of the diaper cake. Each ribbon, flower, and topping is picked with the client in mind. I want something that stands out as much as that person does on their special day. Each cake is made sweet, classy and with love. If there is ever a theme or color style you don't see, it can be made.
All of our Sweet Pea products can be shipped across the US. We have custom fit boxes to ensure our cakes arrive the same way they left. We have also become the creative process of making Sweet Pea J's- our pajama gift sets. Each gift set comes wrapped together in a small hat box with a special card for whatever occassion you are giving them for. You will find pajama pants, a matching top, bath gel and lotion as well as a set of chapsticks. To launch in 2008 we will have new mommy and daddy gift sets with a pair of pajamas for each, a massager, and massage oil.
Sweet Pea Cakes, Etc. also has wedding towel cakes, spa towel cakes, cupcakes, and graduation towel cakes. Each cake comes filled inside with gifts perfect for that occassion. The graduation cake comes packed with everything needed for college life- laundry soap, fabric softner, travel size shampoo, conditioner, soap, sponge, tooth brush, tooth paste, first aid kit and a handmade laundry bag. (available in school colors). What a unique gift for seniors!
Coming in 2008: Kid Towel Cakes: hooded towels wrapped into cakes filled with bath time fun!, New Wedding Towel Cakes, Valentine Pajama Gift sets, Valentine Cupcakes, More Sweet Pea J's, Sweet Pea Baby Food Gift Sets, Totally Organic Diaper Cakes, our own handmade bath products, and DW Designer Diaper Bags! Check back weekly as all these items make their debut on www.sweetpeacakesetc.com
Thank you so much for checking us out and for your business. We are thankful for this opportunity and for the success Sweet Pea Cakes, Etc. has brought us! So on that note: make it GREAT in 2008!
Dawn Weigum
