Lotus Bebe Brings Eco-luxury for Babies

Lotus Bèbè brings Eco-Luxury for Babies

Collection of bamboo and soy baby blankets and accessories launched
Moorpark, CA - November 14, 2008-- Lotus Bèbè by Raulin Enterprises, Inc. recently launched a new collection of soybean and bamboo baby blankets and accessories to the eco-market.

The company, located in Southern California, was created by Kathleen Raulin, CEO and “Mommy-Entrepreneur”, in 2008 who says, “I couldn’t find stylish baby accessories that were also environmentally friendly for my own son. There were very few options out there, and what I found was pretty boring.”

The Lotus Bèbè collection includes luxury soy blankets, bamboo blankets, and petite blankies. The blankets come trimmed in 100% vibrant silk. For that sustainable luxury all little ones deserve. Each blanket comes tied with a ribbon and a tag printed on 100% recycled paper with embedded wildflower seeds. “We wanted to have the least amount of packaging of our products and also something that can be recycled.” says Kathleen. The tag can be planted in soil and in a few weeks wildflowers will sprout.

The chemicals used in the growing and manufacturing of conventional textiles can contribute to an overall decline in both our health and the environment, with sensitivities and health problems becoming more common. The many benefits of using bamboo and soy can help keep our children and our earth healthy.
The soybean fabric is produced by using the leftover dregs of tofu and soybean oil production and spinning the proteins into threads. Soybean is sustainable because it uses what would have been waste and turning it into something useful, namely soybean fabric. The production of soybean does not pollute the environment as the accessory and auxiliary agents are non-toxic and the residue after the protein is extracted can still be used as feed for livestock. The fabric produced by this process is light and smooth with a silky sheen. Some of the benefits of soy are:
· Naturally resistant to certain types of bacteria
· Wicks moisture away to help keep skin dry and comfortable
· Keeps out harmful UV rays
· Biodegradable

Bamboo is a natural textile made from the pulp of the bamboo grass. Bamboo is by nature pest resistant and grown naturally without the use of pesticides or fertilizers and uses very little rain water. Bamboo also regenerates quickly and can be harvested repeatedly. The bamboo plants used for fabric is planted and grown on family-owned farms that have been in agricultural use for generations. The raw material bamboo is selected from a non-polluted region in the Yunnan and Sicuan province in China. The whole distilling and production process is a green process without any effect on the environment. The resulting fabric is light, almost translucent, and softer than cotton with a natural sheen that feels like silk or cashmere. In addition, bamboo fiber is a biodegradable textile material. As a natural cellulose fiber, it can be 100% biodegraded in the soil by microorganisms and sunshine. Some of the benefits of bamboo are:

· Naturally anti-bacterial
· Hypo-allergenic; won't irritate skin
· Double the absorbency of regular cotton
· Thermal regulating to keep the body cooler in hot weather and warmer in cold weather
· Keeps out harmful UV rays
· 100% Biodegradable

The Lotus Bebe collection is currently available at boutique shops including Juvenile Shop - Sherman Oaks, CA, Drool – Thousand Oaks, Ca, Baby Coo – Los Gatos, CA. The collection is also available online at www.peppyparents.com, www.organicbabygarden.com, and www.theglassbabybottle.com. The company is seeking retailers and wholesalers around the US to handle their line, please call 1(800)298-0803 for more details.

For more information please visit www.lotusbebe.com, or you may contact ARL Marketing & Public Relations at 954-376-8388 and via email at: Andrew@arlmarketing.com for media coverage, sample requests, and interviews.

More about Lotus Bèbè and Raulin Enterprises, Inc.

Lotus Bèbè by Raulin Enterprises, Inc. was created in Southern California, in 2008, out of a need for stylish baby accessories that were also environmentally friendly. They discovered the unique properties of bamboo and soybean fabrics and started looking for items made with either. Trying to find items made from bamboo and soybean was challenging, due to the fact that no one was carrying these items. So the idea of Lotus Bèbè was started. There product line was launched with hip mommas and poppas in mind, who want to give their children something natural, eco-friendly but at the same time luxurious.

Meet Stowers Swaddlers & Stationary

Today I am so excited to introduce you to a wonderful mother owned business. Not only are the products terrific but the family standing behind it are just as terrific! Phylana is the proud owner of Stowers Swaddlers & Stationary, which opened for business June 2004. At Stowers Swaddlers & Stationary you can find: The Stowers Swaddler, infant swaddling blanket in regular cotton and organic cotton, Baby Buddy Burp Cloths, hand decorated note cards, journals, and photo albums, we are now offering Leela Lou Designs organic baby one piece t shirts that are hand decorated. They can create gift baskets for those of you looking for a gift for someone or just want to try a little of everything for yourself.

So how did this nurse who is a mother of 5 come up with The Stowers Swaddlers?

"My sister had difficulty swaddling my nephew, so I told her I would create
a blanket that addressed all the issues I had addressed while teaching thousands
of caregivers how to swaddle while I was a labor and delivery nurse. My sister
used it and loved it and then we gave it as baby shower gifts and they wanted to
give to others. After that we entered The Stowers Swaddler into the Inpex
International Invention Convention and we won the gold medal and then I thought
we should give the gift of sleep to everyone who has a baby and has trouble
swaddling. Our business was born."
That's what makes the is boutique so unique from other stores. It is made to make swaddling easy to do and maintain from the perspective of a nurse and mother who has been there.

While you are over at Stowers Swaddlers & Stationary, make sure to check out the top 3 sellers:

Stowers Swaddler Pink, Blue and Froggy
Gift Baskets Ducky
Leela Lou Onesie - Wash your hands

I also loved the Cards for Kids that can be personalized with your child's name. My daughter is at that age where she can begin to write her own thank you cards, get well, just a little note to send to her grandparents and so forth. How sweet to have personalized cards that are just her own?? I also love the fact that the swaddlers are available in organic fabrics as well as the onesies. It's so nice that more and more companies are incorporating the "Go Green" option. I really love the Baby Girl Gift baskets too! (It's pictured below!)

Did I mention that shipping is only $3.50 on every order no matter what your total is??? How great is that! So head over and start shopping today! While you are over there though, there are a few things that I thought were really great about this terrific family that you must read! Check out their story with Oprah's Pay it Forward Challenge, and they have been on Dr. Phil, and The Big Idea.

Right now The Stowers Swaddlers & Stationary is giving away 2 swaddlers (pink, blue or yellow) for 2 of our readers! Also for the next week you can get 20% off all purchases when you put the code SweetPeaCakes in the coupon code box at checkout at http://www.stowersswaddler.com/

It's here. The answers to all mother's shopping needs!

Selecting the Right products for you and your baby! "The Baby Gizmo Buying Guide"

When it comes to shopping for your unborn child, it can be pretty overwhelming. Walking up and down the aisles of the baby stores, excitement overwhelms you, as you see one wonderful gadet after another! Packable cribs, high chairs, swings with music, swings with toys, strollers, bibs, clothes, toys, bath tubs, diaper bags, bottles, breast pumps, and every other baby product you can think of towers over you. I thought when I went to get the items for my first born it was going to be a piece of cake. WRONG! I ended up with a stroller that lost its wheel on a walk around the lake, gadgets that didn't work, and tons of clothes at didn't even fit her when she came out. Now when my second daughter came along almost 6 years later I figured this one would be a breeze. WRONG again! I had a sling that was recalled, a breast pump I didn't need, a stroller that didn't fit in my trunk and nothing for a spit up baby! What do you do at this point????

You open up "The Baby Gizmo buying guide" by Heather Maclean with Hollie Schultz! Ladies this wonderful guide takes you "from pacifiers to potties....why, when, and what to buy for pregnancy through preschool"! Yes finally a guide that mothers put together to save you from falling into the traps of buying what everyone else has, what is "pretty" and get what works!

Every chapter goes over the age range, total usage, recommendation, when to buy as well as the types of the items. For bassinets, it is broken down into bassinets, cradles, moses baskets, carry-cots and why we love them and why we don't. Every detail you need to know to help you in making the right purchase is in each chapter. With nearly 30 chapters broken down into categories, you are sure to find any item you will be using for your child described in this book.

One of my favorite sections is on the activity centers. The book goes into detail about the seat, convertibility, height and reach, the toys, chew friendliness(I loved that!), music and lights, unnecessary extras, price, activity jumper and features to consider! With all that info this makes it so much easier to decide on the right make and model for your child. Now onto slings. Like I said before I got a sling that ended up being recalled. But I really didn't know which one to get to begin with. Which one would be the most comfortable? Which is the easiest to put on? What grows the best with baby? I don't want to get one that lasts for the first 3 months! Well "The Baby Gizmo Buying Guide" has the answers!

And now you get the chance to have the answers too! The Baby Gizmo has graciously given me 9 books to give out for this awesome giveaway! Yes thats right NINE BOOKS FOR NINE WINNERS! So to win this awesome book there are a few things to do:

1.) Check out The Baby Gizmo and take a look at their awesome website, their blogs and everything they have to offer! Then click here to check out the book!

2.) Leave a comment here by clicking the link that says comments in pink. Tell us what you liked best about their site, and why you need to win this book!

3.) Leave a valid email address so we can contact you when you win! Also add sweetpeacakes (at) yahoo (dot) com so our email doesn't go to spam!

Here's to making shopping for baby a breeze!! Contest runs til Wednesday April 23rd! Winner will be announced and emailed on Thursday the 24th!
Have a great day!

That's Sew Cute!

When I came across Sew Petit and their adorable products, I knew I found something awesome AND functional. As a mother of a spit up baby, I know what its like to go through towel after towel and bib after bib. So enter the wonderful burp cloths from Sew Petit.

So how did Vicki, owner of Sew Petit, get started with her business? "I’ve been sewing for ten years. On becoming a stay at home mom I began to have the desire to run my own business. I’ve always loved the cute, personalized baby items that I would see and wanted to be able to do that for myself and for others. I got an embroidery machine and then Sew Petit was formed!"

What are all the wonderful products you can find at Sew Petit?

"My tag line is “personalized products for baby and beyond.” I offer burp cloths, hooded towels, beach towels, ribbon belts, pocket scarves and “change” purses for mom. All of these products can be personalized with a name, initial(s) or monogram. I also work with customers on their own unique orders, from heirloom linens to a bulk order of burp cloths for a company."

I LOVED the ribbon belts! My oldest daughter is in the stage of needing bigger jeans so they are long enough but then they are huge around the waist. So getting some ribbon belts for her would be awesome. I think I will be getting myself some too! My favorite are Cornflower!

What is so unique about this mommy-owned business is that Sew Petit’s items are cute and yet functional for mom and kids. "There is no extra charge for the personalization and I work hard to meet the customer’s intent with each order." Now that is something to get excitied about!!

What are the top three sellers at Sew Petit?

"People have really loved the burp cloth sets. The three cloths are designed differently, but they complement each other. The hooded towels are popular. They are generously sized and customers like the fact that their baby or young child won’t grow out of these for years. The fleece scarves were a big hit during the colder months. These scarves have pockets to keep your hands warm, and the fleece is awesome for keeping the cold out."

Right now you have to head over and check out each of the products and start shopping because Vicki has generously offered one winner one of any of the following (yeah for winner's choice!):a set of burp cloths, a beach towel or two ribbon belts! You can also get them personalized if you like! BONUS! All you have to do to win is: 1.) Visit Sew Petit, 2.) Leave a comment here about a specific product you like (think "The Olivia" instead of "hooded towels") so that way your comment qualifies! To leave a comment click on the pink link that says # comments (# will actually show the number of comments)
PLEASE LEAVE A VALID EMAIL ADDRESS!

3.) Link to this post by blogging about it if you are a blogger!

Contest runs til Friday, April 18th at midnight. Winner will be announced on Saturday April 19th. Make sure to add sweetpeacakesetc (at) yahoo (dot) com to your address book so the email doesn't go to spam!

And if you are too excited to wait to win, you can start shopping and get 20% off your orders through May by using “sweetpea20” during checkout! That's over a month of discounted shopping!

A bit more about owner and store: I have been in business for seven months. I feel so blessed to be able to have my business and I enjoy being able to give back. I’ve been able to work with the local pregnancy resource center to offer personalized burp cloths to the mothers. My wonderful husband and I have been married for 12 years. We have two girls, ages 6 and 1. I am a homeschooler. We enjoy traveling all over the country to see new places.Of course I enjoy sewing. I’ve just started making clothes for myself—that’s a new challenge! I also enjoy reading, traveling, good cooking (usually not done by me) and web design. Although the web design world is growing so fast I can’t keep up. I’ve enjoyed traditional scrapbooking in the past and am getting ready to dive into digital scrapbooking.

Happy Monday Special

Good morning. I have decided today to offer everyone I know a special discount to my shop Sweet Pea Cakes, etc. The discount is 10% off your order when you enter SPECIAL at the checkout. So why did I decide to do this? Well several reasons. 1.) I have been wanting to sell my townhouse and move into a bigger home. To do so with the market as stinky as it is requires a down payment and to be able to sell my place. I either have to wait to be in business longer to qualify or show a heck of a lot more income and a 10% down payment. YIKES. So in fear of having to go to back to the "real" working world I am on crunch time to triple my sales. After being home with my kids for over a year the idea of leaving them at all , even a few hours a day, let a lone the idea of 40 hours plus all the commute time, makes me teary eyed and sad. What fun is having children if I see them two hours in the evening and for a few on the weekend in between cleaning house, running errands, going to church, and making meals???? UGH. So cross your fingers and pray that something awesome is going to happen for my family. 2.) I have launched several new products which I am stoked about. Baby bathtime towel cakes and Children bathtime towel cakes. Both cakes are made from towels (the baby cakes have handmade hooded towels too!) with handmade pajamas inside and lots of bath fun. They come in several choices with even more summer fun up ahead. So check them out and see what you think.

I also have decided to offer this special since I will soon be retiring many of my diaper cakes I am offering now to make room for all new designs. There will be a special OOAK (one of a kind) diaper cake page that will launch this week with special diaper cakes where there will be only ONE of each kind. It will be so neat! I am really excited.

Also I want to take the time to bring everyone's attention over to Make a Child Smile website. I think this is such a neat way to get involved personally with charitable giving. Here are children going through a rough time with life, with families by their side endearing all this hardship. Why not brighten their day with a card, a letter, coloring books, toys, handmade gifts, and things of that nature? Munchie Mallow sends a gift over to a different sponsored child each month. Other companies are beginning to sponsor children. And yes I am all for it. My daughter is going to be making cards to wish these children brighter days and helping to make little care packages. I encourage all of you to check out the site.

Alright this post is a lot longer than I planned. I hope you are having a fantastic start to your week. Leave a comment so I know you stopped by and I hope you come back later this week for a book giveaway (sneak preview - "The Baby Gizmo buying guide") and more!

A new chic boutique for mother and child

I love shopping online for my little girls. Anytime I come across a fantastic boutique filled with goodies for babies, children and the rest of the family I have to share it! Enter Luca Bleu Boutique. This chic boutique for mother and child is filled with wonderful gifts that are not at all those other boutiques, like: B-buckles which are buckles allowing mom to wear her favorite jeans while pregnant, The Papa Pillow, Adorable outwear for babies and children, and so much more that you need to check out.

I got a chance to interview Rachel, the owner of Luca Bleu. I asked her about the products she has to offer and here is what she had to say, "Luca Bleu truly offers a “handpicked selection” of the finest products available for moms, babies, and children. We offer clothing, accessories, baby essentials, decor, furniture, bedding, and gifts. We try to provide items that other boutiques do not and constantly search trade shows, blogs, magazines, and other avenues to find products before they become well-known. You’ll notice I love color – so most of the clothing, accessories, bedding etc…is full of fun, and whimsicle patterns and color selections."

My favorite things are the leg warmers! I am ordering a pair for my 15 month old daughter to wear along with her onesies and skirts. It is still chilly in Colorado and these will make a great addition to her wardrobe!

Curious on what the top sellers are that are flying off Luca Bleu's shelves? Here are the top 3:

1) Right now the Topless Undershirts from Blush are selling like crazy! They are great for pregnant women and really help to extend the wear of your pre-pregnancy clothing. (They have prevented me from buying maternity shirts too early).

2) Customized Bed Crowns: These are great especially for little girls rooms for over the crib, bed, window, or for a “reading corner” in the room. We offer a wide selection of colors, paint finishes and fabrics to match any nursery or bedroom.

3) Bla-Bla backpacks for kids have been big sellers lately. The monkey and frog have been the most popular!

Next on my list is the cute Monkey backpack for my older daughter, one of the best sellers! I have to get this since she will love it! Isn't it soooo cute?? I can see why it's in the top 3!

I asked Rachel how she got started with this wonderful business. "Over the past year, many of my friends had children and I was always searching for the perfect and “most unique” baby gift. Many of these friends live out of state, so I often times turned to the online boutiques. My main frustration with shopping online was that many of the baby boutique sites were extremely slow and would freeze up in the middle of my purchase. I also usually ended up buying from several sites due to product selections…so I ended up paying way too much for shipping. It’s nice to be able to offer customers a one-stop shop – but still be selective in the items we carry.

The most important reason I started Luca Bleu is because I knew we would be starting a family. Like most moms out there I would love to work from home and raise my children...and Luca Bleu is my way to eventually do this. I also wanted to get all of the nitty gritty business start-up work out of the way before we started trying to get pregnant!"

So what is so unique about this online boutique that makes you want to head over and shop right now, well...

1. WEBSITE: Our website is fast and extremely easy to navigate. Customers won’t wait minutes for pages or images to load – and your screen will not freeze up during the checkout process!
2. PRODUCTS: Luca Bleu offers colorful, unique, and often hand-made items for babies, mothers, and children. We aim to provide customers with items from every product category while still being picky in our product selections.
3. CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! When you are buying anything – especially from a boutique – you should expect only the best customer service. All items are hand-wrapped in beautiful tissue paper with a matching ribbon and hand-written thank you note. I aim to ship out items the same day or very next day after they are ordered and follow up with customers to make sure they love their purchase. We have a flexible return/exchange policy and are really here to serve our customers.
4. PRICES: Things don’t have to be expensive to be great! We offer a wide selection of products in all price ranges – so there is really something for everyone.

I absolutely agree and I will add an update when my products arrive! So here is the exciting news!!! Rachel is offering EVERYONE the chance to win a $25 gift voucher to Luca Bleu! All you have to do is head over to Luca Bleu, take a look around, come back here and leave a comment (click on comment link below in pink) and mention what your favorite product was. All entries will be entered into random.org and a winner will be notified by email. (make sure to add sweetpeacakesetc@yahoo.com to your address book so the email doesn't go to your spam)

Click here to head over!**NOTE contest has been extended. Will end March 31st. Winner will be annouced April 1st. Oh and WAIT- it doesn't end there! Luca Bleu opened its “virtual doors” in October of 2007.

A little about the owner:

My husband and I met in high school and dated for 9 years before getting married in May of 2004. Our first “baby” was our Golden Retriever, Payton. However, we have been blessed with pregnancy and are expecting our first little boy on August 10th of this year! This is the first grandbaby for our parents – so you can imagine the excitement right now.

My husband and I LOVE to be outdoors. Living in Nebraska, we definitely take advantage of every nice day during the Spring, Summer & Fall. We both really enjoy running and have completed one marathon and a few half-marathons. I also enjoy decorating, shopping, reading, but most importantly just spending time with family and friends. This pregnancy has brought our family very close together and we are all so excited to meet our son!

This reminds me of all my bonding times with my first daughter. She loved bath time and it was part of our nightly routine. Every night she soaked in the bath tub, played with her toys and I read books to her. Then she would get out and I would massage her with the baby lotion and get her ready for bed. Doing that routine, I swear, helped her sleep better at night. So of course with baby #2, we do the same thing. She is now 14 months and loves having the lotion put on. She holds up her feet, and then her arms and helps rub it on her tummy. I love how clean she smells afterwards. The Johnson & Johnson lavender bed time lotion is fantastic too. I recommend that to put on your babies before bed. You can't find any better baby products then this and now you get a chance to receive them for free!!
